I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, appointed in 2001 and currently in full-time NHS practice in the Ulster and Musgrave Park Hospitals. I graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast, with Distinction, in 1990. I trained in Trauma And Orthopaedics in Northern Ireland. I was a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellow from 1995 to 1996. I was awarded a BOTA/Smith & Nephew Travelling Fellowship, for excellence in research, visiting Boston and Seattle in 1998, and undertook a Fellowship in Reconstructive Arthroplasty in Vancouver, in 2000.

My elective sub-specialist interest is in Primary and Revision Arthroplasty and I have a General Fracture Practice, with a particular interest in Peri-prosthetic and Peri-articular fractures in the region of the hip and knee.

I was Training Programme Director for Trauma & Orthopaedics in Northern Ireland from 2006-2014. I have been Clinical Director in Orthopaedics from 2013-2017 and I was Chair of Division of Trauma, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in Belfast Trust from 2017 until 2024.

I was an examiner in the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) examination for 10 years and I am currently an examiner for the International Joint Surgical Colleges Fellowship Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedics since 2017.

I have co-authored and collaborated on almost 30 publications and book chapters.

I provide medico-legal reports for personal injuries and medical negligence, accepting instructions for both Plaintiff and Defence reports.

Mr. Samuel Sloan is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in spinal surgery at Royal Victoria, Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and Musgrave Park Hospital. He treats spinal conditions in both adults and children.

He graduated from the University of Dundee in 2005, completed Northern Ireland’s Trauma & Orthopaedic training program, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 2015. He also holds an honours degree in Anatomical Sciences and a Diploma in Medical Education.

Mr. Sloan completed two spinal surgery fellowships: in Belfast (2016–17) and Sheffield (2017–18), the latter being a prestigious program covering adult and pediatric spinal surgery. He returned to Belfast as a consultant and is involved in teaching and research at Queen’s University, Belfast, and contributes to the British Spinal Registry to improve patient outcomes.

Dr Lorraine Graham

Dr Lorraine Graham, Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Musgrave Park Hospital Belfast. Northern Ireland.

Medically qualified from Queen’s University, Belfast with Honours in 1994.

She was awarded the George Murdoch Medal from the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics for research in the field of prosthetics.

Dr Graham is Clinical Lead for Prosthetics and Amputee Rehabilitation Medicine in Northern Ireland since 2010.

Her research includes Northern Ireland Troubles amputees their mobility and psychological issues. For this she was awarded the Philip Nichols Prize.

She has published extensively in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation journals.

She provides medicolegal reports within her scope of practice.

Dr Corrigan is an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist, having worked in Consultant posts in acute adult mental health and occupational health settings. He has extensive expertise in the areas of post traumatic stress and occupational health and has published research, contributing to academic literature, in these areas. Dr Corrigan has provided expert witness assessment and reports for a range of local solicitors across Northern Ireland in the area of personal and criminal injury. He also has expertise in assessing victims of Troubles related injuries.
Dr Corrigan is able to take referrals for medico-legal assessments in any of these areas.

Miss Julie Reid is a senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, with more than 20 years’ experience of treating patients with vascular disease and varicose veins. She is a member of both the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and the British Association of Sclerotherapy.

She has a well-established and highly respected reputation in successfully treating vascular disease, and as one of the premier vascular surgeons in Northen Ireland, provides treatment to both insured and self-funding patients.

In addition to consulting on all vascular conditions, Miss Reid specializes in minimally invasive treatments for both varicose and thread/spider veins.
