Mr Sean McGovern is the Responsible Officer for Musgrave House.

Mr McGovern is responsible for making revalidation recommendations (based on annual appraisals) to the GMC about the fitness to practice of doctors who consult primarily in Musgrave House and do not do any NHS work. In other words, for doctors who have a ‘prescribed connection’ to Musgrave House. These doctors will be subject to the robust systems and procedures in place at Musgrave House.

Doctors who have an NHS contract, or whose primary practice is not Musgrave House, are revalidated and appraised through their NHS (or primary) place of work. However, in addition to this, they will also be subject to the same robust systems and procedures within Musgrave House to audit and assess their fitness to practice.

This means the general public can be assured that current doctors working at Musgrave House, and any future doctors who wish to work here, will be subject to the same robust processes required by the General Medical Council in relation to fitness to practice.
